The annual Hebridean Celtic Music Festival is an international three-day Celtic music festival which has grown in popularity and acclaim since its inception in 1996.
It is an award-winning event and is now recognised as one of the top ten music festivals in the United Kingdom. Although several events are held in venues across the island, the main arena is sited on the Lews Castle Green and comprises two marquees which can hold 5,500 free-standing spectators.
Over thirty music acts perform at the festival with a varied mix of visiting international artists, solo artists, and local musicians. The festival also offers Gaelic storytelling, language tasters, workshops, performing street artists, and opportunities to explore the island's rich culture and heritage.
It attracts several thousand visitors from around the world. In 2018 the festival drew a record breaking 16,000 people.
